Make a Keep Cup FAQs

Where are the workshops located? A: All of our public workshops are held on site in our Sunshine Coast pottery workshop.

Does the price include both sessions? A: The price of your workshop includes 2x 90 minute sessions.

Glazing/painting your pieces: Our double sessions include use of underglazes in your second painting/glazing session. We do not permit students to cover entire pieces or areas of their works in the underglazes. Underglazes are designed for painting patterns and illustrations and must be used the correct way to be food safe after firing. The professional underglazes we use are also quite pricey so we ask that you use them in a sparing respectful manner and follow instructions. We have inspo books for students to get inspired by patterns and illustrations. If you wish to try top glazes to cover your entire piece in one colour we encourage you to book one of our 5 or 8 week courses. The course sessions are longer which allow us to teach students how to use top glazes correctly.

Can we take our pieces home straight away? A: In the first session you will create with the clay, the clay will then air dry for 5 - 7 days in our studio. Your pieces will then be bisque fired in the kiln, and then you will come back to glaze them in your second session a fortnight after your making session. After that, they will be fired again. You will be asked to leave your phone number and you will be texted anywhere between 2-5 weeks when your pieces are ready for collection.

Please see our collections tab for collection details.

*Please note finished works must be collected within 4 weeks after recieving a text to collect. Non-collected works are donated to charity. If you need longer to collect please notify us during your session or via email.
